Beginning Watercolor

If you’ve ever wanted to try watercolor but weren’t sure where to start, this is the class for you! Whether you’re a complete beginner or just looking to refresh your skills, we’ll guide you step-by-step through the essentials of watercolor painting in a fun and supportive environment.

Learn the magic of color mixing (and how to avoid making that dreaded "mud"!), discover the power of brushwork, and explore exciting texture techniques that will make your paintings pop! You'll also dive into the art of working with masking fluid to preserve highlights and experiment with both wet and dry techniques to create stunning effects.

We’ll even introduce you to the world of collage—showing you how to incorporate texture and unexpected elements into your artwork for an added creative boost! By the end of the class, you’ll have a solid foundation in the basics, plus the confidence to explore and experiment with your own unique style.

Creative Journaling in a concertina sketchbook

Whether you're a seasoned artist or just starting out, this class is your playground! Whether you like writing, sketching, or painting, we will explore a variety of exciting techniques to bring your journal pages to life in ways you never imagined. Bring your watercolors, acrylics, pens, collage papers, crayons, and any art supplies you HAD to have but haven’t quite figured out how to use – we’ll put them to work!

This will be a mixed media adventure where no idea is too wild and no medium is off-limits. Expect to dive into a creative frenzy, experimenting with layers, textures, and vibrant colors as you unleash your inner artist. Whether you're looking to tell stories, capture your feelings, or just have fun splashing paint, we’ll be crafting one-of-a-kind journals that reflect YOU.
